Bridie Raban, formerly the esteemed Foundation Mooroolbeek Professor of Early Childhood Studies at the University of Melbourne, continues to make significant contributions to the field as an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. In recognition of her outstanding work, she was honored with an Honorary University Fellowship by Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) in 2021.
Throughout her career, Bridie has conducted influential research on language and literacy development, teacher change and development, curriculum and assessment in early childhood, and the provision of high-quality education. Her expertise and contributions have been instrumental in shaping the field of early childhood education. Notably, she was the first Professor of Early Childhood Education in Victoria and the second in all of Australia. Prior to her tenure in Melbourne, Bridie served as Professor of Primary Education (Early Years) at the University of Warwick and held the esteemed position of President of the UK Reading Association.
