Science Smart

Science Smart series is designed to spark scientific curiosity while covering the living, physical and material worlds, and planet Earth and beyond, interwoven with a nature of science focus. It introduces and consolidates key science skills related to investigation, critique, interpretation and applying science to the real world. Student resources include practical, hands-on experiments and investigation ideas, along with worksheets and fun pages for consolidation. Detailed background notes and ideas to support teachers in planning units and implementing the activities are included. Generic templates are also provided so that the process of setting individual topics is similarly straightforward.

Caroline Mulholland is an experienced teacher and author. She has taught in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. When not teaching or writing, she is a busy mother of two. Her two children Emma and Jack are both her biggest fans and harshest critics and enjoy helping to test out her new books and to ensure there is plenty of fun alongside the learning activities. They particularly like trying any type of science experiments and activities that involve code cracking and logic skill.
