Postcards to Sam Cover

Postcards to Sam

Postcards to Sam is a book suitable for older primary students reading at a lower level.

When Sam breaks his leg skateboarding down Goose Hill, his mates send postcards to him in hospital.

They keep his spirits up with their news: Ricki's latest inventions, Tom's non-date with Tracy, and the lion who refuses to be hypnotised.

Perhaps he's safer in his hospital bed than out there with his mates.

A funny, richly illustrated story exploring the quirky and crazy lives of each character, this text hones key vocabulary and reinforces basic grammar skills.A useful ressource for the independent ESOL student.

Adrienne Frater

After a career in education, in 2005 Adrienne Frater took the plunge to become a full-time writer. For the first few years she also lectured on a tertiary diploma of creative writing. She writes for adults and children and her stories have been published or broadcast both within New Zealand and overseas. She has been fortunate in receiving a number of awards including twice being a prize winner in the Commonwealth Short Story competition and chosen to represent New Zealand in the David K Wong (Pen International) Competition. She has written many books in the educational fiction genre.

Adrienne lived in Nelson, New Zealand and was blessed with an over-riding curiosity and sense of fun which endowed her work with humour and energy. Very sadly, Adrienne passed away in February 2020.
